Tree Pruning
There are many different types of tree pruning that can be undertaken your representative will discuss all options with you. The following definitions may help you understand some operations that may be undertaken:
Dead wooding
The removal of dead wood for aesthetic reasons as well as safety. This reduces the liability of wood falling, causing damage or injury.
Crown reduction
The most difficult task to undertake and involves the reduction of the canopy to an approximate percentage. This is usually to reduce the trees wind resistance for structural reasons or to try and retain the tree at a more compact size when close to obstructions.
Crown thinning
Removing selected branches within the canopy to allow more light to pass through.
Crown Lifting
The removal of lower branch work, this is usually undertaken to reduce obstruction to vehicles and pedestrians, but can be undertaken to clearly define a trees shape or expose the aesthetic value of the stem.
